On Tuesday 27/09, A Promise to Animals participated on the Santorini’s Equine protest rally at Syntagma Square,
together with "Hippothesis" organization, in collaboration with the international organization PETA, and the actress-activist Tania Tripi.
The rally’s main message was: "Stop abusing Santorini’s donkeys and mules on animal walks!". The initiative though, was
about equines that suffer.
The abuse these animals feel, is systematic. The harnesses and saddles used are not properly supported and worn, resulting in painful scrapes and sores in the belly area. Also, the bridle material is often unsuitable. Some donkeys and mules have open wounds full of flies.
While the animals are forced to wait for the “customers” exposed to the Mediterranean sun, the owners seem not to care since they do not even water, shade or any kind of protection from the weather

The common request was to stop equine exploitation.
